What Makes Sheepdog's Coffee Speciality?
Unlike mass produced coffee you might find on the supermarket shelf, "Speciality" coffee refers to high quality beans grown in specific environments and microclimates.
The beans we use are carefully sourced from the best coffee farms around the world, and are roasted to bring out unique tasting profiles while adhering to strict quality standards.
What Makes Sheepdog Coffee Ethical?
We are proud members of 1% For The Planet and World Coffee Research.
Also, while you may be familiar with Fair Trade pricing, we at Sheepdog Coffee pay above fair trade pricing for our beans.
Although this means our coffee is slightly more expensive, there are two significant results from this:
- We and You are doing our part to help those coffee farms and families who run them to make a better living from growing the coffee we consume.
- The quality of coffee is higher due to the equipment and training being implemented thanks to a higher return to the farm.
Is Sheepdog Coffee Environmentally Friendly?
From farm to you, we have strong environmental practices.
Not only is our packaging is recyclable, our roasters, manufactured by Loring, are the most environmentally friendly roasters on the market, claiming up to 80% gas savings compared to conventional coffee roasters.
Since we are a proud member of 1% For The Planet. We are committed to donating at least 1% of annual sales directly to environmental organizations.
The farms we source coffee from, in part thanks to the higher price we pay, have more money to invest in more environmentally conscious machinery and tools.
On top of this, our farms are partnered with several different projects and charities including:
- The Rainforest Alliance
- Blue Harvest Project
How Fresh Is My Coffee When It's Shipped?
Our coffee is roasted throughout the week to meet our customers demand.
Roasting coffee beans produces CO2, and it's important to allow coffee beans to "off-gas" prior to packaging.
Once our coffee has been rested, we carefully package it into bags with one-way valves to allow any small amounts of gas to escape without affecting the freshness of the coffee.
This process ensures our coffee reaches you as fresh as possible.
How Should I Store My Coffee?
In order to keep your coffee as fresh as possible for as long as possible, you should store it in an airtight container, in a dry, cool location away from direct sunlight and any moisture.
Do not store you coffee in the fridge or freezer, this can create moisture and alter the flavour of the coffee.
Do You Offer Wholesale?

Whether it's to upgrade your office coffee, sell in your shop, or brew for your customers in your coffee shop, we offer bespoke pricing for each client depending on their needs.
